Product Description
These old carved clay spindle whorls are at last 50 years old, and possible as much as 100-200 years old. They were used by the Mayan people in the Guatemalan highlands as "weights" on a drop spindle for hand-spinning cotton, in preparation for weaving. Because they have a large center hole, they also make a great bead! They are one of a kind, you will receive the exact item which is pictured.
